ADHD & Autism Assessments

Comprehensive diagnostic assessments for children and adults — because understanding is the first step to support.

Understanding ADHD & Autism

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are neurodevelopmental conditions that affect how a person thinks, learns, interacts, and experiences the world. Early and accurate assessment is crucial — it opens the door to appropriate support, educational accommodations, and effective interventions that can dramatically improve quality of life.

At Jai Ram Psychiatry Clinic, we conduct thorough, evidence-based assessments for both children and adults. Dr. Lt. Col. Aanuj Yadav’s 14 years of psychiatric experience, combined with his DNB Psychiatry qualification, ensure that every assessment is conducted with clinical precision, developmental awareness, and deep empathy for the individual and their family.

We believe that a diagnosis is not a label — it is a map. It helps us understand where someone is, identify their unique strengths and challenges, and chart the most effective path forward.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

ADHD is characterised by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning, academic performance, and relationships. It is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders, affecting approximately 5-8% of children globally.

Common Signs of ADHD

  • Difficulty sustaining attention on tasks or activities
  • Frequent careless mistakes in schoolwork or work
  • Fidgeting, restlessness, or inability to stay seated
  • Talking excessively or interrupting others
  • Difficulty organising tasks and managing time
  • Losing things frequently
  • Forgetfulness in daily activities
  • Difficulty waiting for one’s turn

Common Questions About Assessments

How long does an assessment take?

A comprehensive ADHD or autism assessment typically spans 1-2 sessions, each lasting 60-90 minutes. Additional time may be needed for review of rating scales and developmental history.

Will my child be labelled?

A diagnosis is not a label — it is a clinical understanding that enables appropriate support. All assessments and results are 100% confidential and shared only with the family.

Can adults be assessed for ADHD or autism?

Yes. Many adults seek assessment for ADHD or autism, especially when they have struggled with symptoms for years without understanding why. Adult assessments follow the same evidence-based process.

When to Seek an Assessment

If you notice your child struggling with attention, behaviour, social interaction, or learning — and these difficulties persist across multiple settings (home, school, social situations) — it may be time to consider a professional assessment.

Trust your instincts. Parents often sense that something is different long before anyone else notices. You are not overreacting by seeking clarity. An assessment does not change who your child is — it simply helps you understand them better and access the right support.

Whether your child’s teacher has raised concerns, or you have noticed patterns yourself, we are here to help. Our assessments are thorough, compassionate, and designed to give you clear, actionable insights — not just a label, but a roadmap for your child’s future.
